Well, since Thursday the 10th I had been meaning to post, but life has gotten in the way and my attentions have be locked upon a certain 'lil Asian cutie. I am going to post about the week Amelia spent here in good old capitol city, then anything following will be in a separate post tomorrow.
On the Thursday above mentioned, I had arranged to meet with my parents for a meal with the intensive purpose of them meeting Jannah, they picked us up and we drove to Signor Valentino's at the bay.
It went well I guess, I am not really sure how you critique that sort of thing....I guess if neither of your parents yell "bitch" at your partner and as long as nobody has a food inspired makeover, then it was exceptionally successful ^_-.
The food at the restaurant was nice enough and the service was rather good, though the steak was rather bland and lacked any real distinction...Everyone aside from me seemed to enjoy their food though, if I were to dine there again I would certainly avoid the steak in favor of one of the pasta dishes.
My mother seemed to especially like Jannah, but then again my mother says similar things about all the girls I introduce to her, my father seemed to not express much interest; positive or negative.
Oh and as a side note that makes little sense to anybody not involved. 26 8+1 = 9 16+1= 17. 17+9= 26 ^_-
Friday went without much incident or event, nothing enough to mention at least (Jannah was not around, so I stayed around the house and finished off some of the more mundane tasks I had to do)
Saturday I went into Cardiff proper with G, browsed the usual shops and met up with my Mother, Grandmother and Naomi.......Eventually. Myself and G arranged to meet them over in the 1/4 Brewery outside Nando's at around noon, we ended up waiting till twenty-to-one. By the time we found somewhere else to eat (Nando's was packed when they finally got over to us) Jannah called me and asked to meet at the bus station, I grabbed the burger I had ordered and made my way hastily over to the station.
We (myself, Jannah and Amelia) took a bus over to McArthur Glen designer outlet and hung out there for a few hours, it was the first time I had met Mel and it ended up being a lot of fun. I bought ice cream for us all, Mel decided to go with 'Mango and Ginger' Yes, I know, it does sound repulsive and by the way Mel ate it, I can assume it was..heh.
G also managed to get locked out of the house....Again. He met me outside Jannah's to collect my keys and gave me a wry grin when I told him I was probably staying the night with Jannah & Mel.
Pictures taken in the food court, on the right is Lil' Ms.Grumpypants, on the left is a Coke from McDonalds.
I cannot recall the exact days of some of other things we did, but here is a wrap-up of Amelia's week(I spent the whole time with them, more or less).
Sunday Jannah was feeling a little upset about all the choices she has to make this year and with the possibility of having to attend a different University, so we went out for a walk in the evening. I took a few pictures of things that caught my eye and we talked a lot, stopped at a store too and bought Daim bars =P. Rest assured, Jannah is fine and aside from a little shell shock, she is dealing with applications and what not rather well now. Here are some of the pictures I took that evening.
Myself and Mel went into town the one morning, I wanted to pick some stuff up and Mel tagged along because the house was pretty quiet, everybody in Uni. We talked, about games a lot and assorted other things, neither of us really know each other, thusly conversation stayed light. Before we got to town, Jannah called and met us on the road outside Howard Gardens. We went over to the Italian place in...Castle arcade?? It was a rather disappointing meal though, they served me Tea whiter than snow and weaker than Tim Westwood's rap game, then she seemed offended when I wanted her to take it back and pour me a new cup. The food was okay, service was abysmal and I am not entirely sure when the chef and serving people were changed, but I am sure it sucks now.
We walked back and hung round the house for the rest of the evening/day. Including a stop off at Ernest Willows, where Mel and Jannah were awe-struck by the bathroom there.
We ate at Tenkaichi one evening, always a treat in my opinion..Though I ended up feeling a little sick and left some of my meal, including a piece of Jannah's tasty salmon sashimi =(. Felt a little groggy for the rest of the evening, Hung out and palying guitar hero 3 with Mel a lot....Seemed to do a lot of that in general, JanJan had work and applications to do, so I kept Mel company. It is amusing to see Jannah's dislike for the game grow with each "slow ride" or "Heir Kommt Alex" played, where as Mel had quite the opposite reaction and was boarder line addicted before she left.
I only ever seem to play at Jannah's, despite having the game and two guitars sat down stairs...I prefer to play on a real guitar and try to improve, than strumming on a cheap controller molded into a tiny tacky looking electric guitar...But hey we all have our vice
We went to the bay and I forgot to bring my camera, as seems to be my habit with that particularly area of Cardiff...We wandered around, Mel and JanJan played DDR in the red dragon center. Intense foot stomping ensued and they ended up very close on the score, it was funny to watch since neither of them were particularly good and both of them seemed to enjoy it anyway ^^. We went to Eddies after the Red Dragon center and the Millennium center, I bought fries and milkshakes for everyone and we chatted - Most note worthy of the subject, is the Marilyn Monroe Statue anatomically correct....Mel had to fight the urge to check; restraint.
Jannah danced around as we walked up between the pillars of light and I couldn't help but smile while watching her, something just feels right about us, contentment seems to just take me when Jannah is around.
Oh we also managed to reclaim her hat, Jannah had left it at Eddie's some days before and we did not get around to picking it up, despite being in the area with my Parents the Thursday after. So a successful trip, aside from the fact I didn't take my camera >< (Though I am going to cheat and upload a few pictures that I had taken Monday of this week)
So the bay was a lot of fun, though I had a nifty idea for a picture, but didn't have the cam >.>. Ah well, such is life and I am sure I will have another opportunity.
The other pictures are of the Thursday show that Jannah was part of, it was a little frustrating that the tutor/teacher/whatever you want to call him, didn't really seem to listen to Jannah when she explained the piece and what it represented. Despite being the one to initiate the questions and queries. He seems to look at something and pass judgement without trying to understand it's significance. Ignorance is the folly of many a man. Visually I think it was pleasing, though at first I did not quite understand the reasons for doing it, those reasons just made it more enjoyable for me, though maybe not one of the stronger peices Jannah has done. But as she said on her Vox, it was more for fun than anything else, since she had wanted to do something with her umbrella collection for a long time. I think it was fun, Jannah did not seem to try to make it more than it was and as always she took the mind set 'If you don't like it that is fine, if you do like it, that is fine too'.
Joan's piece for the show was.....Interesting and entirely too confusing for the non-hardcore-gays. He explained the work himself, which took far too long and also lead to more questions....I missed the first part of the show, I had to pick up Mel from the house as I was busy in town during the morning. Show was fun though.
Friday I had a bunch of things I needed to get done, so I had headed back to my place, Mel and Jannah hung out together in town and I headed back to her place at around 2100/2200. Didn't get up too much, though I have a few pictures I took with Jannah.
I really like the Cheshire cat picture, I called the end picture "Lament of lust, Object of desire; Mizu'
So that about wraps up the week, Mel left Saturday morning 19th and I miss hanging around with her, she was a lot of fun and very amusing to talk with. I am sure we will meet again, for more twisted conversations and adventures.
